[Her introduction this time around is a V sign that she flashes just before the camera lens as the feed begins. The next thing she does is pulling her arm away, so everyone could see her and the Poké Ball she's holding.The Sprout Tower is her background and it's late afternoon already, but she can't wait to get back to Pokémon Center to show off a little. Besides, this setting is far better, especially since the sun is setting down.]

Finally...after days of encountering way too many ghosts, spotting a hundred of Bellsprout and probably the same number of monks...FINALLY...

[Of course, she takes the extra effort to sound as dramatic as possible. Hoping that the suspense will make anyone who's watching excited just as she is, Kaori finally releases the Pokémon from the ball.]

Tot, tooooot!

[As soon as Chatot is out, Kaori changes the angle of the camera so everyone could have a better look. Let it be his instinct or something else, but he seems to know that he's being watched not just by his trainer...and flies up to sit on the lowest branch of a tree.]

Wow, he's so shy...

[Much to her surprise, just a while later she hears a voice coming from all the way up:]

He's so shy...

[At first, she just looks around, having no idea that it's Chatot speaking. But it becomes clear soon enough, when he repeats it a few more times.]

Wait, what is even going on, guys?!

[Kaori's gazing straight into the camera, clearly hoping to get some answers.

This has been newbie's first encounter with a Pokémon that knows how to imitate human speech. Have a nice evening!]

[Now that she knows what Chatot is capable of, back at the Pokémon Center Kaori sits on a sofa with her Jigglypuff, Chingling and new partner Chatot, watching the bird mimic voices of not only the rest of her Pokémon but also the one's that are passing so it quickly becomes rather loud there. More than anything, Kaori pays attention to his shaped like a metronome. It even moves like one...]

Hey, maybe I should name you after my friend...people call him a human metronome.

[She's really impressed by how quick he catches on. Pokémon really are amazing.]

Anyway, we resume our training starting tomorrow! [Whining.] Hey, but today we celebrate!

[She's handing out berries she has found on their way here. Feel free to join them!]

A Bellsprout? Mine cackled like a Gastly until I sent Princess after him. They must have a lot of practice imitating their neighbors, to be able to fool us so easily.

[That, or humans are silly and easily misled.]

Were you looking for a Chatot specifically, or just tired of the rest?

[Her face grows pale in a matter of seconds; it's easy to say that she has seen at least one or two...or a bunch, actually.]

Yeah, I mean...I had no idea that such a Pokémon exists at first, so when I saw it for the first time I just knew that I have to catch it!

That's as good a reason as any to catch a Pokémon. If you fall for a Pokémon at first sight, you obviously were meant to train it.

[He whistles, and within a few seconds his own Chatot flies in and settles down on his shoulder.]

I spent two days trying to find one, back in the day. So of course Haro decided it would be hilarious to follow me around and pretend to be a run-of-the-mill ghost the whole time. I got the last laugh, though.

There's no way I'd give up on this one, even if he pretended to be a Gastly...or any other ghost.

[She's shivering visibly, though...rather thankful that Chatot went with a Bellsprout voice.]

Oh! Hey, Chatot! Look, look!

[The bird doesn't seem to be moving from the branch anytime soon, which makes her puff her cheeks.]

Don't be like this! There's another Chatot there!

[At that, her Chatot tilts its head and finally decides to fly down...and lands on top of her head so that way he wouldn't be visible, but he could take a peek at the screen at the same time.]

Haro seems to have a unique sense of humor...I wonder if they remember all the voices they tried to imitate?

Sure they do. Sometimes, I could swear Haro remembers everything I ever-

FEAR THE MIGHT OF THE MIGHTY BISIDIAN SPACE PIRATES! WE'LL CRUSH YOUR ARMIES AND DESTROY YOUR GENOCIDAL PLANS!

-told him. Sorry about that.

[Ash looks horrified. Haro looks very proud of himself. Showing off in front of a potential distant cousin? Most definitely.]

[That was unexpected and she gasps at first...only to start laughing after a couple of seconds.]

That's...a very unique...

[Speech? Threat? It's not that easy to tell, but all in all it sure sounded hilarious when said by Chatot.]

WE'LL CRUSH YOUR ARMIES AND DESTROY YOUR GENOCIDAL PLANS!

He picked it up quite fast...haha...

...It's spreading as swiftly as a supervirus. What have I done?

[The touch of despair in his voice is approximately 25% fake.]

As I said, they can have excellent memories. I'd suggest being very careful with what you say around him. You never know when it'll be repeated.

At least now I know that your past is quite interesting...

[She has no idea under what circumstances he would say this, though. Maybe he was just sleep-talking...?]

Please. Merely calling it 'interesting' is insulting a perfectly good 'mysterious yet fascinating' past. Those take time to build up and arrange, you know.

[Even if half of it was accidental and against his own wishes.]

Much better, now that I've learned not to let him out in the middle of a crowd. Or at two in the morning. Or at two in the morning, in the middle of a sleeping crowd. Prom didn't need to be that memorable.

[Surprised that Chatot helped her finish, Kaori tilts her head before chuckling again.]

Yeah, he's right. Wait, now I want to hear that story.

What's there to say about it? A lot of people in my world have genocidal intentions. I don't approve.

[A beat, and then he starts frowning.]

...That makes it sound like an even worse place than it already is. Ouch.

But...you've managed to stop them, right?

[It's just her intuition, but he gives that vibe of a superhero or someone like that.]

If you don't want to tell me then I guess I might know someone who would...

[She's looking meaningfully at his Chatot.]

Excellent question. There was a truce right before I was brought here, but I have no idea how long it'll last. Still, it's a nice first step, as long as people are willing to keep walking and talking.

COMMUNICATE, YOU PIG-HEADED IDIOTS!

...Chatots also easily pick up insults, as you can see.

[He doesn't sound too bothered, though.]

[The sudden shriek startles her and the image becomes a bit blurry for a moment.]

I see now...is there any way to make them forget some lines?

...Carefully applied blunt force to the head, maybe?

[It would almost sound like a serious suggestions, if not for Haro's cackling.]

Perhaps their brains run out of space at some point, and their earliest lessons get overwritten.

[The Chatot on her head isn't in a mood to laugh; actually, he starts panicking a little when he hears that suggestion and ruffles her hair.]

Hey, stop!

[Enough of that: she finally catches him and holds the Pokémon carefully.]

...but yours still remember, so...are you sure it's going to work?

[Ash does look like he feels bad about the Chatot's sudden panic; Haro, not one bit.]

Not at all. I'm just hoping that at some point his more... unusual vocabulary will fade away from his mind, never to be used again.

So it's all just one big gamble...

[For a moment it seems that she's not really happy about that, but...]

It'll never get boring with him around, at least! Especially if he learns more words. Actually...it feels like it'll never get boring with these creatures around.

Especially not with your Haro.

Definitely not. You could spend a year here with only a single Pokémon without knowing a single moment of boredom. With the hundred or so we're allowed to raise at once? You could last a lifetime or six, and still discover something new about them every morning.

That's why they're so amazing, really! Not only them, people are just like that too, I believe. And maybe it's naive and I shouldn't say it so early but I'm happy that can be here.

[A moment of silence.]

Great, now I've said something embarrassing and unnecessary...

[Ash shakes his head with a smile.]

That's hardly embarrassing or unnecessary. It just means you have the right state of mind to appreciate your stay in this world properly, instead of moaning about a situation you can't change.

Thanks! I doubt that complaining would change anything anyway. And this world is really great, even though I haven't even seen so many places yet. I feel sorry for the people who can't notice that.

[Her adaptation skills is something she's proud of, actually.]

However, I bet they'll notice it soon enough.

They're likely to notice at the beginning of June, or November at the latest. Seeing this world at its most frantic helps us appreciate the calmer periods all the more.
